When your kids are burnt out on textbooks and workbooks, break out the games! Even games designed for older kids can be modified for younger ones, and you can turn any game into something educational with a little creative thinking! Here are some games we found that help teach the social sciences including history, human geography, politics, and economics.

This Day In History: The Board Game

This Day In History: The Board GameWith This Day In History: The Board Game, players test their knowledge of historical events by putting them in chronological order from earliest to most recent. Each player can arrange up to eight events chronologically on each turn. The more accurate they are, the quicker they move on the game board. By using ‘Power’ cards strategically, players can outsmart their opponents. The first player to reach the ‘Finish’ board space wins the game!  Ages 13 and up.

Way Back When in History
